One Hour Runner: Slow Run

After my last two runs, in which I glided over the sidewalk, today's run was distinctly blah. I don't know why, but I was slow. I didn't get very far at all compared to last time, and my legs felt heavy--it was a real effort. And to top it all off, when I was done, one of the tendons on the back of my left leg hurt. Which never happens! It's strange how you can try your best, and some days are great and some days are not. I told myself the important thing was just to finish, and I did do that, so I'm happy. Hope to get back to my glory days though!

Maybe you were sad because Regis left morning talk hosting today.

I think some days just go like that. I hope you didn't really hurt your leg. Do you ever have days when you wouldn't have gone out except you had to go run, and then it turns out to be much more pleasant outside than you thought it would be?

That happens to me. I promised I'd walk Maxie every day I possibly could so I force myself out and usually it is ok and we have a good walk. I would have stayed inside otherwise.

Hope it goes better for you. Don't forget your warmup!

Ha! It could have been the regis thing... It has been getting me down. And mom, that always does happen to me. It could be a day I would have never gone out except for running (or Elliot has a soccer game or something), so I spend a while outside and can't get over how pretty it is. Especially with the leaves changing colors right now, and the weather over all being pretty warm this Fall, it has been pretty glorious. I feel lucky to live next to water too. It is always pretty to look at!

The river really is pretty there by Riverside Park.

Tonight for last call I only heard one lone cricket. Usually there is another one answering him, but not tonight. Just the one....It was so, so sad.
