I've got no idea how We the Animals by Justin Torres ended up on my 'to read' list, but one day the library told me it was ready to be picked up and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was more of a novella size than a novel. I had a quick flash of hope, "Maybe if I read a bunch of books this short I can make it to my yearly goal!". Then reality set in. I'll never make it.But on with the book.
95% of the story is about three young brothers, growing up together, inseparable. Then suddenly it flash forwards to the future when they sadly begin to part ways. It was a quick and simple read. And it was an entertaining enough read, but I didn't find it very gripping. It never really spoke to me. Although I am happy enough to have read it, it's not a book that I would recommend.
