One New Thing: Governor's Island

Today I went with my friend Cat to Governor's Island. I've always wanted to go and check it out. So finally we did, and here is what we saw and did:

Roaring 20's party where people dressed in their best 20's and flapper gear and danced danced danced. (I'd like to attend one day after I take a lot of dance lessons and find the perfect outfit).

Picnicked under a tree where me may or may not have seen a tick wandering around on Cat's leg.

Watched a trapeze school.

Swung on Swings! (I haven't done this in forever! I forgot how fun it was).

Ate a snow cone. (Which ended up being pretty much a ball of ice. Pretty flavorless, but it looked oh-so appetizing).

Then the ferry back to the noise of the city, where I had the most surprising experience of the day. The line waiting to get over to the island was filled with people who could have belonged on Jersey Shore. I thought the show must be paying these people to be a little more outrageous than they actually are, but there they were. Neon clothes. Short shorts. Big muscles. Embarrassing accents. Knowing that the cast is actually like this... I'm not sure if this will ruin the show for me or make it that much better!
