It was a pretty typical sports bar, but it was nice because there was actually available seating! There may have been no toilet paper in the bathroom, but at least I had a chair.
I didn't have money for food, so was so jealous when everyone ordered and it looked delicious! Irish food. Except for maybe the calimari and the Philly Cheese Steak... I definitely want to go back and try the food out. Maybe on special Irish Day (although I really want to be home for that because Recupero corned beef is the best corned beef. Or is it Harper corned beef?)
And perhaps most exciting of all, right next to The Triple Crown a Panera will be opening!!! Fine dining at its best!

Since we always had St. Pat's for grandpa I would say it was Meagher corned beef.
But where did the corned beef and cabbage recipe come from? Grandpa's mom? Dad's mom? Grammie? We were debating this!
Mom started using the corned beef round I think. Dad said him mom just threw the corned beef in with all the vegetables like a lot of people did, which is a whole different taste.
She also found the spotted dick recipe we use and the horseradish sauce.
So does that mean that it is a Recupero corned beef?
Yup! Maybe I will try to make these things this year.
Ooo! I'm excited! Maybe I won't need to go home after all! We are gonna go all out. We'll pinch our Latin neighbors!
Except for lots of pots, it is the easiest thing to make. Mostly just lots of boiling, boiling, boiling! Steam everywhere.
Nice to know St. Pat's is the only reason to come home. So sad.
Maybe you could be in charge of making the spotted dick!
Not the only reason to come home of course, but I like to time with trips with good food!
You make the very best corned beef Jane. Mom's didn't turn out like that froom what I remember. The spotted dick was all grammy though. I would give the corned beef to Harpers. Spotted dick is really easy to make too. I think the worst is the cream sauce for the cabbage because that pot is the very worst to clean!
And you always get stuck cleaning it! Poor you.
